SAY HI TO HERMANN
AMERSFOORT-HERMANN-AMERSFOORT
Say Hi To Hermann takes you from Amersfoort straight into the wild heart of the Veluwe, rolls you across the Achterhoek, and nudges you over the German border into the Münsterland . From there, you will start the Hermannsweg, following it all the way to the iconic Hermannsdenkmal. After saying ”Hi” to Hermann you will follow the Lippe river from the source and follow it towards Naturpark Hohemark where you will cross the border into the Netherlands again. The Rhine river and the National Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug will guide you all the way back home to Amersfoort.
Expect a weekend packed with contrasts: quiet heaths, winding streams, deep forests, open fields, and the occasional climb to wake up the legs. You’ll weave through tiny villages, old fortifications, lively towns, and surprising bits of industrial history — a blend that shows just how rich and varied this region of Europe is.
One weekend. One ride. A whole patchwork of landscapes to explore.
Changing landschapes
A challenging long-weekend escape packed with changing landscapes. Ride 750 beautiful kilometers from Amersfoort across the Veluwe and through the Münsterland to the Hermannsweg, following it all the way to Hermann himself. After greeting him, you turn west along the Lippe River, cross the Achterhoek, and find your way back to Amersfoort.
